Former prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and the late Madan Mohan Malaviya, educationist and freedom fighter, were chosen for the Bharat Ratna, the country’s highest civilian honour, on Wednesday. The announcement from Rashtrapati Bhavan was made ahead of Vajpayee’s birthday on Thursday, and the 153rd birth anniversary of Malaviya.

A Bharat Ratna for Pandit Malviya, a freedom fighter and the founder of the Benaras Hindu University was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his election campaign.

Mr. Vajpayee will be the seventh Prime Minister to receive the award, while Pandit Malviya will be the 12th person to be honoured posthumously.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed delight at the announcement. "Bharat Ratna being conferred on Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya and Atal Bihari Vajpayee is a matter of great delight. Country's highest honour to these illustrious stalwarts is a fitting recognition of their service to the Nation. Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya is remembered as a phenomenal scholar and freedom fighter who lit the spark of national consciousness among people. Atal ji means so much to everyone. A guide, inspiration and giant among giants. His contribution to India is invaluable," the Prime Minister said.

Sharma has been fined 15 per cent of his match fee for violating Level 1 Article 2.1.4 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to “language or a gesture that is obscene, offensive or insulting during an International match.”

An attack by the Taliban on a school in Peshawar is being seen as one of the worst-ever in Pakistan. 

In the deadliest slaughter of innocents in Pakistan in years, Taliban gunmen attacked a military-run school Tuesday and killed 141 people — almost all of them students — before government troops ended the siege. The massacre of innocent children horrified a country already weary of unending terrorist attacks. 

A spokesman for the Taliban tells the BBC that militants have attacked the army-run school in response to military operations in North Waziristan and the Khyber area.

The rampage at the Army Public School and College began in the morning when seven militants scaled a back wall using a ladder. When they reached an auditorium where students had gathered for an event, they opened fire.

The government declared three days of mourning for what appeared to be Pakistan’s deadliest since a 2007 suicide bombing in the port city of Karachi killed 150 people.

Everyone's heartbroken in both Pakistan and India with such inhuman incident by militants. People criticized it on social media and various condolence messages floated over whats app.

Amul Girl thinks peace is more important for progress of nation and people. Everyone should respect each and every religion, and human being is more important and above all. 

Any person or organization should not use weakness of individual to help him for converting his caste. That is not humanity, its business of religion. These conversions are forced and an exploitation of the financial weakness of certain sections of the society and are highly condemnable. 

Recent incidents to convert cast has provoked criticism and these kind of outfits who have no interest in religion and its values, but are dividing the nation for their political and vested interests. The extremist organisations are exploiting the sentiments of common people and giving it a communal colour, so as to reap electoral benefits and hence must be curbed in time.

Amul Girl hope people understand, though it may be easy to convert but it won't help anyone so better to share and live happily in life gifted by god.
