Election Commission successfully conducted 15th Lok Sabha Elections across India in 10 phases and results are due to be announced on May 16. More than 814 million people — a number larger than the population of Europe — will be eligible to vote in the world’s biggest democratic exercise. 1. The turnout of voters in the current election was 66.2%. It was the highest ever turnout, beating the previous one of 64% in the elections of 1984 and significantly higher than the 58.2% in 2009.

3. Male voters - 426 million (426,615,513), Female - 387 million (387,911,330) and others - 28,341
4. First time voters - over 23 million (23,161,296)
5. Polling stations - 930,000
6. 8 million civilians and 3 million security personnel deployed
7. Nota (None of the above) option will be used for the first time in a parliamentary poll
